Salinas Grandes

Yes! A new photo gallery…and this blogpost is a memory to my visit(excursion) to the large salt flat Salinas Grandes in Argentina(in 2015). The famous Salinas Grandes is definitely a must see if you are traveling in northern of Argentina. Many backpackers & travellers are staying in Salta…many ho(s)tels offer tours & excursions to the Salinas Grandes(and many other beautiful sights like Purmamarca and her seven colored mountains, railway to the clouds,Quebrada de Humahuaca,Town of Cachi etc… ). Rent a car is an interesting option too of course. If you are up to visit the salt flat, don’t forget sunscreen & sunglasses.

September 2015, my dream became true: exploring Argentina, that large country somewhere in South America. When I started to prepare this trip… what to see, transport, hostels… I wanted to see all but limited in time(and yes… budget:) ) . A friend(with South America experience) advised  me: make choices! Do your research and chose because in a three weeks road trip you cannot see all and enjoyed it for the fullest. Take the map and put a line on it: you choose Buenos Aires  and the northern Salta region(and  Iguazu falls) OR go south: Mendoza, Bariloche,Perito Moreno, Ushuaia… .  When I came back from Argentina, I can say: this tip make sense and makes your itinerary much easier to plan. I’ve chosen Buenos Aires/ Pinamar (more specific Ostende, because this town has the same name as my Belgian hometown Oostende)/Cordoba region & Salta Region.

Enjoy my Salinas Grandes photo gallery! What are my followers their favorite spots in Argentina? If my loyal followers put the Salinas Grandes after seeing my pics on their bucket list: mission accomplished:)!

  1. That is a good tip for sure. If you do research and choose what you really want to see, there is no time wasted and less disappointment. This place looks interesting. I will remember it if I visit Argentina one day.
